|Athletics team at the team function...moments after Nick announced to the team as flag bearer|
Perfect person to lead the team:)
I made a choice months back that I would not march knowing where the heptathlon is on the programme. So, for those of you that were watching out for me...sorry! Whilst it would have been an incredible experience my performance is my absolute priority. I watched the ceremony back in Cardiff with other support staff of the Athletics team. It certainly was a spine tingling experience for me to see my team mates enter the stadium and know that in a weeks time I will out there competing. Finally the worlds greatest sporting show has begun!

I spent a night in the village the night before the opening ceremony. Being welcomed into the village by the rest of the NZ team was so special. It was a moment I will cherish and I feel pretty lucky to be having this experience. The atmosphere in the team is electric and everyone is ready to perform. The athlete support team have done a fantastic job in creating a homely environment which is very homely and very supportive - thanks guys!
|In my formal wear:) Amazing sleep over in the village and great to be welcomed into the team|
So with less than one week to go til I line up on the start line I am into the final stage. All the hard work has been done and now it is really business time. This will be my final post pre-heptathlon so thank you for all your amazing support! I have had a constant stream of well wishes and it is truly amazing to know you are all right behind me. So get some sleep people because you have a big two days of cheering ahead of you on the 3rd and 4th. All the best to the entire New Zealand team - go the kiwis!!! Thank you for sharing in my journey
