Being in Dunedin last week was a great opportunity to finish off my training cycle strongly. After three solid weeks it was great to be able to produce some satisfying training results in the last few sessions. One of the best sessions of the week for me was doing a nasty set of 300 reps on Friday afternoon (second to last session of a big training cycle so legs pretty smashed already!). It was awesome to be able to do this session with Bec with both of us keeping each other honest and pushing each other throughout every rep. It was fair to say we were both hurting after the final rep!

Pushing ourselves to the limit and paying the price!
Bec and I in hurt central but happy to be there...weird I know |
The training camp effect for athletes has been talked about a lot in research. I think for me personally whilst I love the environment at MISH and my training group it is quite refreshing to be in another place to refresh your mind. It was great to do a few weights with former sprinter turned sprint track cyclist pro Katie Schofield. It was also very handy to have a 5-10mintue drive to training as opposed to having to cross the Harbour Bridge:) It was fantastic to get in some really good work with my strength coach Angus who with the rest of my team are constantly looking at ways I can improve. Thanks to Dunedin and the Dunners crew for a great week!

So...I'm into my recovery week now. It's a very satisfying feeling for me have come through another cycle unscathed and knowing the work I have done and the loads I've put my body under:) With not long to go til I leave home it's a great chance to recover, make sure my body is ready for the last couple of weeks in NZ and tick off the little jobs that I need before I leave. Job tonight...cheer on the NZ Breakers Basketball team to victory in the ANBL Championship!

| During a med ball set, I managed to throw the ball hard enough against the wall that one of the screws came out! |
